SCCVC Hairdressing Photo 8

It is interesting that when a Hairdressing Salon Operator wants to teach at some Colleges in Australia, they need to have the correct qualifications (journeymen's certificate) as well as undertake a Hairdressing Trade Test . This test will normally take all day, and the hairdresser will need to have 2 clients to work on. They need to be able to demonstrate a large range of skills including colouring, cutting and up-styling.

Salon Operators may have been working in their business for many years, but they still need to take the Trade Test. This is required for prospective teachers wanting full time or part time work.

Every year the college presents a Showcase called Reality To Runway. The students demonstrate their skills in Hair and Make-up showcasing their skills by recreating different looks. It is really exciting for the students to be involved in an event like this. This year the themes we chose were The Masqurade, Doll House, and Gatsby.
